ABOUT THE APJS
Founded in 2018, the Alberta Prison Justice Society (APJS) is an organization of volunteer lawyers and law students devoted to addressing injustices in correctional institutions. Our work includes advocacy on behalf of incarcerated individuals, providing training opportunities for legal professionals to learn about prison advocacy, and speaking out about systemic issues that affect Albertan inmates.

APJS COMMITTEES
The APJS has several committees that advance our mission to provide assistance to Albertan inmates:

ADVOCACY COMMITTEE

GRANTS COMMITTEE

RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE
The Advocacy Committee is the vehicle through which the APJS tackles prison justice issues in court and other venues. Its volunteers consist of lawyers and law students from both criminal and civil backgrounds, all committed to helping inmates in Alberta. Contact us if you are interesting in joining the Advocacy Committee or if you are in need of their services.
The Research and Publications Committee was founded in order to provide Albertan inmates with materials that explain their rights and the procedures meant to safeguard those rights. Contact us if you are interested in joining the Research and Publications Committee or if you would like to request materials.
